How do I know if my car is pre-wired for fog lights?

I have a 96 GXE with the security and convenience package (I think): sun roof, power driver's seat, alarm, and Im not sure if my car was fog light pre-wired.

Is there anyway to tell? Ive looked for taped back wires and such but I have been unable to locate any.

Thanks.

all maxima's should be pre-wired.. well all 4th Gens... you will have to look behind the bumper where the fog light holes must be

OK - did that and found what looked to be a taped back plug off the wires that go to the sidemarkers - is that a good sign?

What side was the plug on? Make sure there is an identical one on the othere side of course..on the right side (washer fluid tank side) dont confuse the plug for the low fluid sensor for the fog light one!

I'm not so sure. IIRC, there was someone here a few weeks ago that found out his GXE without the convience package wasn't pre-wired.

It is a good sign if...
- the connector has a gray plastic shell, and
- it has two wires: orange/black and black.

I thought that only the 97+ were prewired, whenever they changed the fog delete from that covering to the single bar. I did mine on the 99 GXE and I didn't have to look around for the taped wires, they were pretty easy to find.

It does - on both sides - I guess that means Im all set to go. I know I have to buy a relay and a switch however where does the switch connect to behind the dash, should I be looking for a connector? (Forgive me I know their are detailed directions on Cheston's site, which I will most definitely review)

Thanks for all the help guys

Just get the whole kit from Courtesy Nissan. It includes the 2 foglights, the relay, a template for cutting the front bumper ('95-'96), a new headlight/foglight switch stalk and complete instructions.
