Question about the "next" mod.

I've been looking around the forums at AFCs and whatnot, and I can't seem tell if the I'll benefit from it. I only have a y-pipe and I'm debating whether to do this as the next mod or b-pipe.

I recall that someone said that an (s/v)-AFC would only gain 2-3 hp on N/A Applications. Is it true that most of the gains comes from timing advance so the smts/e-Manage would be world better? What kind of gains would an average non-vi'd 4th gen see? right now I'm more interested in the s/v-afcs because of their attractive price but would it be worth it?

i would really go with the B-pipe and cat-back. Once you are done with the entire exhaust then you can invest in an AFC. The reason is that you really arent running anything too spectacular to have an AFC. Right now on my car i have a the y, high flow cat, greddy rear(includes the b) and a shrt ram intake. Sitting in my house is the entire 00VI and i am looking for the AFC and then i will install and the only reason i am going with the AFC is to control the bigger injectors off the VI( I am using those).

Alright but, would a s-afc or v-afc net much gains with the exhaust done? or would most of the gains come from timing advance from other types of piggybacks?

Gains depend on your current AFR right NOW. Which you do not know. Typically, A32's run a very conservative AFR. The more aggressive, the more power you get. But this isn't the only part of the equation.

Not all of these threads are as helpful as others but, read some of them and they sure will help better understand the concept.
