Drone Or Not?

Hi guys, been a while since I last posted. I'm hoping that admin can post this up in the sticky exhaust compilation thread up top.

WOOLF (Brian Catts says they're very similar to his) equal-length 6-2-1 short headers and Y-pipe

Twin COBY (NZ Tuners) Resonators (cats not necessary in NZ)

RPS Cat-Back

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ArV72SaBXzo

There's an exhaust hangar that's loose near my resonators which is the rattle you hear just after start-up. What do you guys think?

BTW - the first big ALL NISSAN drag day in NZ is taking place July 18...big smiles

Thanks man.

I think you'll only find them here in NZ as they're just up the road from where I live - but going on what Brian Catts says Cattman headers are probably the closest (and probably better quality than the Woolf ones - they're meant to be fantastic) you'd have up there.

I'll get some pics up when I'm back at work Monday bro.

I think most in-car cams are mounted to the left of the passenger headrest.

I really like how that sounds, nice work.

phats ive been moving house, might have to locate the speakers and plug them up for a bit of a listen !

edit: whoa thats phat dude ! sounds great when you got own it ! you say you know where the rattle is ? i have a nut and bolt around where the muffler and piping connects to the bpipe, from time to time it comes loose and i have to tighten it up real good. mine is a bit more of a nasty rattling noise when it happens.

be sure to bring that camcorder and smx maxima to the meet in july !!

if you plan on allowing your passenger seat to tag along for the race, you can put certain style camcorders in between the seat and head rest, then you just push the headrest down on it real tight and snug. ive done that a few times.

I'm not sure - there are 6 pipes (2 sets of 3) that lead into 2 pipes that meet at the Y-pipe...so whatever that is I got. Anyway, it's only sound - the real test will be in July when me, CC and some of the other maxima.org.nz go up against the boosted GTi-R Pulsars, Bluebirds and of course...GTR's .

Really only Caesar has a chance for Maximas to hold their heads high.

Makes sense, Brian did know the guys at Woolf by name and said they were excellent quality - which he would say if they were his unbranded.

Weird that one of the most popular Max/Cef/I30 headers came from here.

My headers and y-pipe cost me $1,100.00NZD installed - which is about $830.00USD at current exhange rates. Didn't ask what the headers alone cost though sorry.

Not really, thing about it PHAT.. Between NZ and the Aussies, you have the most Max/ Cefiros anywhere besides the U.S. and have had them longer than us by what a year or so and have always been a hit there.

Here it's a miracle any of us mod maximas. My car still gets jokes thrown at it all the time by the local scene made up of mostly S13's and S14's.

Nope! We don't have any aftermarket parts here for the Cefiro/Maxima.. I think Woolf (Cattman supplier) started dealing direct with Cattman etc and never really bothered with NZ market.

You're lucky if Silvias is all you got there mate. Pretty much every other Nissan vehicle came out with a turbo standard at some stage. Pulsars, Bluebirds (!?!?!?) not to mention Silvias, EXAs, all the Z's as well as the Stageas and the mighty Skylines. Have heaps of drone machine RB's pull up next to me pretty much every day and they haven't got a hope off the line except the GTR's of course. The RB's are reputed to be terrible under 3,000rpm. Up top is a totally different story.

ha ! you can buy a universal pod filter like K&N here for the maxima, and thats it for mods, i saw a body kit once. its a ghost town over here for maxima mods ! you want a ypipe here, tough luck unless its custom made.

on location, no, i just swap it around all the time, trying to stay ahead of any thugs that might wanna pinch something off the mighty max

Yeah the RB I built a few months back is a 25 that starts spooling right around 2.5k and carries all 2200lbs of S13 transplanted 450rwhp deep into redline

The rest of my friends all have the 240's with SR and KA-T's in them. Then there's like one lone GTi-R and the guy doesn't know how to drive haha.

Thank boys for the compliments but like I was saying to CC on our local .org site it's just sound, CC will still kill me at the drags. Need other things to bring my ET up and my 1/4 mile down.

I could distract CC and steal his car on the 18th...

RPS = Race Performance Systems is a budget muffler option here in NZ. When I have some spare cash I'll get Woolf to knock me up a cat-back.
