nissan rear brake calipers

nissan rear brake calipers

i've seen alot of brake setups using a 300xz front caliper and larger rotors, what about the rears?



supposedly, those are off a r32 skyline, is there a way to use those rears on the 4th gen max?

The reason you see all the setups in the front is because most of the braking is done by the fronts..

Yea, Matt Blehm had a rear Z32 Kit I think including the cost of the calipers the total came out to be around $1,000. Is eliminating brake bias really worth that much to you?

really?

not to sound like a d**k, but that was a waste of a post.

wow $1000? is there anything cheaper out there that anyone knows of?


im not trying to get rid of bias, i just figured that a RWD's caliper would be stronger and more effictive than the stock maxima one. i mean, the reason you buy something better is to make the car better right? why is better rear calipers a stupid idea, weak brake bias or not. if thats your stance, why change the fronts period?

^^^ really ? we did not know that, im sorry but that sig pic is rather large and pixelated. maybe if u reduced the resolution it would look better. nice wheels though

Did I mention upgrading the rear calipers was a "stupid idea"? Nope. I simply answered your question concerning the Z32 brake upgrade. Actually, I never presented my "stance" and I would detail my stance however this sentence or combination of words confuses me: "why is better rear calipers a stupid idea, weak brake bias or not."

A main reason is to keep the parking brake. I personally woud not want the rears to grab harder than they do know under spirited driving. With the distribution the way it is, under hard braking and turning (which is improper technique anyway) I would think that the rear inside wheel would easily lock/abs kick in. Try to get your hands on a set and check the mounting points, from there figure out your rotor options and finally if spacers/ new wheels are required.

I don't think it would be a huge deal to do this but to retain the parking brake may not be possible or very difficult to accomplish.

happy? and i didnt point that comment at you, i was pointing it at the sharp marble of the group that told us that there is more braking in the front and nothing else

which sig can you see? i changed it a week ago to a smaller front end picture instead of the two, how did you see the wheelz

i think he edited the sig and got rid of the pic so i cant see it anymore, but he had his max pic all exploded and it was like all pixels and little squares visible, like a lego maxima hehe

The z32 rears have a separate e-brake assembly. Since the z32 is rwd I don't see how those brakes could be installed without losing the e-brake.

His kit is $1000 not including calipers and rotors, what it does is let you keep the ebrake and also comes with caliper relocating brackets. I helped someone install this kit on a 4th gen before and it is a lot of work. The outcome is great, the feel of a full Z32 setup is AMAZING, but the average maxima guy would never be in a position to take advantage of it and the cost of the kit combined with the work, its just not worth it.
