Catalytic Converter Bracket?

I have a 99, the hanging bracket on my catalytic converter that attaches to the two rubber isolators rotted away. Now only the muffler and Y pipe are holding up the whole exhaust system. Is there an easy way to replace this mount with something else?

I had Midas weld mine for about $50. The weld lasted 2 years, not there is a slight rattle again.

Its called the Y-pipe bracket, you can get one from the dealer for like 48 bucks last time I checked. Or you can buy it used from the classifields. But personally you don't need it...

So the Y pipe bracket is attached to the converter right? Just want to make sure we`re talking about the same thing. No part of this converter or flex pipe can be welded, it`s too rusty.

Well its connected to the y-pipe via the bolts that hold the cat and the y-pipe together...

What I have seen some people do is they leave the rubber hangers up and just put a rod through the rubber hangers and it supports the y

you should be fine without it but i did notice a little rattling with it being totally rotted away. now that i had it replaced with new vibration rubber mounts problem is all gone. do it the right way and get it replaced.

the part u need is a y-pipe bracket, all u gotta do is remove the 2 nuts that hold the cat to the y-pipe and remove from hanger put in the new one.
I suggest replace it soon, I left mine and my whole exhaust eventually started to sag
