Emission test hook up...

I have posted this in the regional as well, and would like to try here... just in case some of you don't go there....
I am in Chicago area....

I have tried posting this already in a different thread.. A fellow member was kind enough to respond to my plead, but we had a misunderstanding.

I don't need a repair shop, I need somebody that can help me... pass the test. Will gladly pay.

Please let me know asap.

Thanks

If you clear the pcm does it come back right away? Or does it stay off for a few days so you can pass your readiness tests?

No, it comes on right away.
Even if it didn't, it takes more then a few days of running clean to pass;
ECU is in the safe mode from being reset and "cleaned" and they won't even let me test because of that.

that wouldnt matter anyway. the way emissions tests are done these days is by looking at all of the monitors. if there are more than 2 of them that say 'not ready' than your car will fail. and resetting the CEL makes every single one go to the 'not ready' status. so you will then have to drive for a certain amount of time so that all the monitors will recheck themselves and either pass or fail the cars self diagnosis.

If it is like ours here in Cleveland, when I first got my car it had knock sensor, rr o2 on the cat and evap codes, they wouldnt pass it. I replaced the cat and hoped all would pass but no, after 3 or 4 tries nothing. One of the workers asked to see my receipts and noticed I was close to the exempt amount, whent to a friend got a receipt and passed.

Second my car now is registered in Youngstown(E check not needed) because you never know with sesnors, I need front o2 now, and still didnt replace knock sensor.

here we go brother.
I just passed my emmision test last week. I have 2 codes coming back everytime I reset ECU (P1706, P0420)
What I did is reset ECU drove my car for 30 miles to complete most monitors and then I took my car for test. It passed and then CEL came on same day. But I dont care since I have a paper saying that ccar is good to go.

I think you were lucky is all.

I have two ECUs...
whats funny is that both are throwing different codes...
I thought that If a car has a problem, its ECU, as a monitoring device, will pick up on those codes regardless on what they are.... I guess I was wrong hehehe
