Bose Headunit tape player problem

yes, your probably wondering why im still using the tape player. I use it for my ipod video, those FM transmitters suck. But right now im having some problems, with the tape deck. If i put in the tape, it takes it, then ejects it, sometimes it works fine, then it will start playing out of only the right side of the speakers. Sometimes even if there is no tape in there you can hear it trying to eject and stuff. I am pretty sure its the bose unit thats gone goodbye.

Anyone else had this problem and resolved it without needing a new HU?

thanks
chris

It's possible it's the tape adapter itself that's finished..
I bought 2 tape adapters ( the same ones) for the same purpose ( ipod).
where 1 workks, and the other, I put it in, I hear weird gear grinding noise, it will auto flip to the other side, play for 3 seconds, reflip to original side and eject the tape..

I just think the BOSE HU tape deck is just picky..

hmm that sucks. Ill try another one..good thing there cheap lol. The funny thing is, the tape worked fine for over a year, i was using it everyday, then all of a sudden it just started ejecting itself whenever it felt like it. It gets annoying fast lol..
