need new engine...will an engine from an auto maxima mate to my manual tranny?

I finally blew up my motor for good after bringing it back to life multiple times. I'm gonna buy another one and I was thinking of using an engine from an automatic maxima because they are much more common. Will I run into any problems? I still have my old engine so I've got the pressure plate and stuff, just wanted to make sure they didn't change the bellhousing or any craziness.

I was also wondering how hard it is to do a vq35 swap. From what i've heard, all you have to do is drill the cam from your old 3 liter and install it into the 3.5 and you're good to go. I have everything from my 3 liter including the ECU. Am I missing anything big? I would rather get a 3.5 because...well...it would just kick ***.

As far as your first question, you can use a motor out of an auto in a manual car, no problems you will run into there.

For your second question - you're way off the mark. Go to the All motor section and start reading (don't post there until you've read all you can about the subject, there are about 2 billion threads there that explain what you're asking about).
