Having a hard time getting the calipers off. Do I need to unhook the parking cable? If so, anybody got steps for doing it? Thanks.

No you don't have to unhook the parking brake. You may need to use a mallet to force the calipers off.
Sweet, you're from Mukilteo, I live in Everett. Check out nwmaxima.com for more local things.

yeah... so come give me a hand if you're not doing anything then! :P

The fronts came off so easily. I don't get what's going on with the rear. The rotor turns freely but the damn caliper bracket won't come off. Is it easier to try to lift the bracket off from the bottom or the top end?

Got it. Now do I turn in the rear piston clockwise or counterclockwise?

front or rear breakes are easy.

take the wheel off.
remove the two 14mm bolt at the top and bottom of the caliper.
hang caliper safely out of the way, not tugging or hanging on the brake line.
remove old pads
apply compound to the back of the old pads, let them set up for about 10-15mins
clean (scrub if needed) old shims/hardware, use carb cleaners
clean and where heavy caked with brake dust.
remove the caliper pins (still on the caliper braket) the two 14mm bolts go into the caliper pins.
wipe off the old greese and apply new greese, apply a small amount, make sure the pin can slide in and out safely and with little to no resistance, if you put too much greese is will kinda stick and pop, too little you'll feel metal on metal. find the middle point.
use a c-clamp to push back in the front caliper piston, use a special tool from autozone/advanced auto parts/local parts store to screw in the rears (clockwise, screws it in) do this step with the top off the master cylinder

re assemble, and enjoy.
I recommend bleeding the brake system, but you can get away with not doing it.

Um ... don't be a tard like me and actually take apart the caliper / e-brake plate. I made the mistake of prying the plate for the e-brake off the caliper and trust me when I say it will NOT go back on. (unless you have a very thin 11mm wrench and a ton of patience) I am replacing the calipers all the way around soon so it matters not, but for future referance.

Also ... if you ever use a mallat on something, try to use a board or something so as to not hit the part directly. Just prior mishap knowledge.

Cheers!
