OK ive been looking into getting a optima battery before I get my system installed. Optima recommends the Group 35 battery for our cars. The Advanced Auto Parts near me has the Group 34 battery in stock. The only difference I can really tell is the placement of the terminals. Will I have any problems using the Group 34 instead of the 35

Definately don't get a yellow top they aren't good for your alternator because they're deep cycle. I have the 34/78 red top and works fine for me.

Where have you heard that? Yellow top would be better for your extra stereo stuff... Red top is a Starting batter, yellow top for accessories, stereo, etc...

Deep cycle batteries are meant to discharge over a long period of time and require higher charging rates than regular batteries to recharge them requiring your alternator to work harder. It's not hearsay it knowledge and personal experience!

well considering about to install a 2600 watt stereo system. I'm better off getting the yellow top, and doing a BIG 3 upgrade. correct???

In the end it's up to you and what you want for your car. I run 1800 watts and a second battery in my trunk with a isolator. Haven't had any problems with my setup and only chose that so it's not double kill on my charging system and whole electrical system for that matter.
