car wont start

ok heres the deal a couple weeks ago my maf went out and i had the whole car stalling problem so i got a used one on ebay and cleaned my air filter then the car works perfect...just like new.

today i drove it and no problem at all...but tonight when i was going to start the car it would not start. at first it sounds like its going to start but then dies then the rpm gauge goes up and down a little. then when i try to start it again nothing... no sound just doesnt do anything. there is no click click sound when trying to start it. i am able to push start it being that its 5 speed. i know its not battery or alternator. i just replaced the starter a little less than a year ago...so i am not sure what it could be. my thoughts that it is the starter again...any other thoughts

UPDATE: ok thanks for the help guys but the fuse is fine and i am not sure how to test the clutch pedal switch thing...when thinking about it the car is acting like i am trying to start it without the clutch being depressed but i am not sure how to know for sure that it is that switch...

this morning i checked the codes and i got P0100, P1220, P1400. I am also running a 96se gforce ecu. I reset the codes and the only one that comes back up is the P1400. After trying to push start it again to see if the other codes would come back it does not want to push start now.

I am really stumpped on this one...any ideas ppl???

are you sure you are getting 1400, theres no short pulses at all. Check out this thread.

It might be your key codes, you may need to reprogram them at a Nissan dealership. I recently had the same problem. My car would not start and I had 1401 and 1402 codes.

Are you getting any noise what so ever during regular start?

You can bridge the starter and if it starts you have to look at the neutral safety switch and the ignition switch.

P1400 is EGR solenoid vavle or circuit fault. (I assume you are using a reader and not a screw driver)

I don't think that will cause your starting issue. Have you tested the starter?

I had to replace my starter twice in the last 3 years so that could still be a possibility
