Ive been noticing that my maxima randomly does these slight kick at a full stop, like at a red light or stop sign. It does it every like 40 seconds or so and i dont see the RPM needle going down or anything. It doesnt seem like its gonna die or anything, but its like a slight rumble and is mostly only noticeable by me.

Has this happend to anyone? What could it possible be? I may need to clean out my TB or something, but im not sure...

any ideas?

 

My wife's 99 was doing something similar to this, until today. I was replacing the starter and had to remove everything up to the TB. I noticed some black, heavy build-up on and around the butterfly, so I cleaned it off. After putting everything back together and driving the car, I noticed that the car was idling smoother than I ever remembered, with no more "kicks".
