It runs!
It runs!
ahahaha! Finally! It's been 4 days, about 3 hours a day, but I've finally finished the manifold/rear bank injector job! and she runs like new! I'm so happy. It's like when I first got her. Thanks especially to joeahuerta, whose pics helped me reattach 2 tiny hoses whose labels fell off sometime during the work. Every thing was like a hellish little obstacle. Getting the rear manifold bolts back on was hell, doing it blind... feeling with 1 finger that the hole in the manifold didn't quite line up right with the hole in the metal bracket, trying to bend the bracket back into place. Diagnosing the little metal coolant tube just slightly bent, bent just so, that the manifold wouldn't get back on. And even up to the very end, she gave me hell. When I started her up and she ran like **** and stalled out. Luckily my dad insisted on doing a test drive anyways, and on the ride along I realized she was perfect with the throttle on, and only ran like **** at idle- then it hit me 15 mins later to check and find that the idle air control wasn't fully tightened into place. After doing that, she's like new, just like when I bought it! No more strange thumping and knocking as she rides, no more dead spot at low rpms, all her power right back! And best of all no $1300 repair bill from the damn dealership, done for 200! What a relief!
Should have done the Rear Valve cover gasket and Spark Plug Tube seals while you had the Inatake manifold off.
Either way, great job and way to save a hella lot of money and you learned alot about your car in the process

heheh. I'll get you when my other fuel injector goes bad. I went to that dealership on evergreen way, (performance nissan? I think) on that road that connect to the everett mall road and they wanted to rip me with a near 2000 dollar repair. Supposedly none of the injectors work all that great, but only 2 were really clogged up, cylinders 3 and 5, both under the manifold rear bank. I really regret not doing that last cyl 1 rear bank injector under the manifold when I had the chance since I was down there anyways.... if it goes I'll have to redo the whole damn thing over again!! If that happens, I'll probably install a mevi or a 00vi since I'll be opening all that stuff up again anyways.
Yeah once you do it one time, its not that bad. As for the manifold bracket bolts I didn't put them all back for easy access next time. And using vise grips to loosen the injector screws is a Godsend tip too.
