Long cranking times when engine warm..
97 SE, 99k miles. When engine is warm/hot sometimes it takes up to 5 full seconds of cranking to get the engine to fire. When the engine is cold it fires within usually 1 second of cranking. This occurs ONLY when the engine is warm/hot. It is more obvious when the engine has had an hour or two to cool a bit, but still way above a cold start environment.
I've replaced:
thermostat
ECTS
reset the PCM (battery cable off for 12 hrs)
throttle body cleaned
cleaned the AIC
I'd appreciate any thoughts on this one. It has plagued the car since shortly after the 3/36 expired in late 2000.
thanks

It sounds like the ECTS. Which brand did you use? 'Cause i went with GPSorrensen first, and that cured the warm hard-starting issue, but made my rad fans spin @ 100% all the time. After putting in an OEM nissan ECTS, everyhting is fine
I replaced it with I think it was a Wells brand or such. It's been probably 4 years ago now. I'll check on the OEM one. Can't ever recall it happening when the engine was cold (more than say 6-8 hours.)
