Just done springs, have questions..
Hi All,
I recently installed new aftermarket springs in my Max. On the front two springs I forgot to put that foamy spring covering on the bottom of the spring from the old stock ones. The springs just sit directly on the strut seating. When I turn when stationery, i sometimes here the springs shifting on the strut seating. I'm just wondering if I should maybe compress them and put the seating back on again. My concern is the springs may be grinding away at the strut seating.. any ideas guys?
Cheers.

yeah, looks like its a common prob. Problem is i threw out the isolators. Cheers to pmohr for the correct term for those spongie things - isolators. I'm sure my local suspension shop will have some. Theyre probably a generic thing.
Cheers for the responses guys

Most likely you don't have ther springs clocked correctly or the bearings are worn out. These, more than not having isolators, are your likely culprits.
You can make new isolators with cable wrap from Radio Shack, but it is not as good as OEM wrap.
