BMW 330i Vs. Max SE 5-speed

ok...so I went into this race expecting to get killed. My friend wanted to do it on the highway becuase he knows that I'd kick his butt out of a light. So we started at about 70mph I believe. We both hit it at EXACTLY the same time, and through 3rd gear I pulled so his front end was at my rear bumper...I couldn't believe it, the all the way through 4th....I pulled a little more. Finally at about 125 (I think) I was shifting into 5th and changing lanes at same time to pass a car in the middle lane...and I missed 5th for just enough time for him to catch up and pass me....I know I lost technically....but I really did have him until I missed 5th. (I always get nervous and miss gears when it really counts) I really didn't think the max had any chance against that car above 80....but I guess it does. He was always talking $hit about the "autobahn" gearing and how he'd walk on me up top.....It was fun to show him what the max could do.

they run 14.8@93 .. so that explains the results.. great run

nope...it was an auto...but with BMWs, the autos are just as fast as the sticks on the highway, my girlfriends dad has a 330ci 5-speed, and the 330i auto is neck and neck with it on the highway.

That 330i auto does NOT run a 14.8@93
I kick the things butt out of a light up to 100.

BTW - I also beat the 5-speed 330ci out of a light up to around 60 by about 2 carlengths a while ago.

On a side note....I also drove an S2000 last night...and took it against my brother is my dad's GS430....and I kicked the GS's butt off the line......who said an S2000 can't launch hard...and I only reved to 3500 before dumping the clutch. We only got halfway through second gear...and the GS was almost right next to me again...if it was a quarter mile...the GS would have taken it.

point is.....mag quarter times don't mean crap.
