cheapest exhaust with best gains? is there such a thing?
my stock 10 year old exhaust just done with. What is the cheapest way to go and still get some gains? I have read the sticky but it seems that you ahve to spend almost 700-1000 to get something nice. this is what i need
1. Y pipe...good quality and price
2. gonna keep my cat stock and its in good condition
3. and a good cat back system that include's muffler/tips that is not gonna break my bank.
the greddy sp2 is like 5 bones that steep for me anything sim in quality but like half the price?????
thanks guys

Go with a budget ypipe... i think they were $200 (Canadian) for org members.
As for the cat back, cheapest around would be the megan catback. 350 shipped from their site, but ive seen the system on ebay for around 300.

there are no-name cat backs on ebay w/ a n1 style muffler, 2.5 inch mandrel bent piping, stainless, for $269 shipped
I was going to go that route but dont like that style muffler and found it too much to buy it just to cut it up so I am going to make my own catback
pacesetter catbacks can be found for cheap too but I stayed away because the piping is only 2 1/4" unfortunatley
There was just a couple used y pipes in classifieds....I am going to be selling my cattman y soon too or I think the warpspeeds are like $200 new, but not sure if they are any good or not

I agree with what Peebs187 says.. invest in a Cattman and it will (out)last the life of the car.
However, 1)you are budget conscious and 2) are you gonna keep the car another 10 years?
My suggestion is get a Y-pipe, of course, keep your cat and have a custom cat-back made locally. Just roll into a few exhaust shops and tell them you have $200 in birthday money from grandma (or something) to spend on your car. If they can't do it, go to next shop and repeat.
I'd say you are looking at $350 to get about 20 whp.
