Flashing Ces

Has anyone else had this happen. If I nail the gas the car hesitates around 4000 rpm and the CES light starts to flash and continues to flash for a few seconds. The car hesitates and just has no power. I tried changing the fuel filter, just had the plugs replaced, and just had all the injectors flushed and cleaned. Can anyone think of what the hell is going on?

Your car is misfiring badly. Change the coilpacks.

For clarification, it's SES, not CES. You may have confused it w/ CEL

SES = Service Engine Soon
CEL = Check Engine Light

Universal term, MIL = Malfunction Indicator Lamp.

Blinking/flashing SES light is typically indicative of a multi cylinder misfire.

I had the same problem. Car was losing power and hesitating approximately a week after I had the oil seals on the manual trans replaced. Then the MIL began flashing at high speeds. After a close check, it turned out to be an intake air leak. One of the clamps which holds the MAF air ducts to the main air intake was loose. I hope this helps.

I have a SRI. Periodically, I will go and tighten all the clamps for it. They always a lil backed off whenever i check it.

OP,

sounds like your coil packs are on they last legs.

Check your intake make sure its not loose, Check your coilpacks for power if you have a test light it will help you or if you dont use a screwdriver with a clear handle, also check your spark plugs again, if you see oil on them, then you'll have to take off the valve cover and replace the seals on the spark plug cylinders.And also change your valve cover gasket.

But before you do any of that first go to AutoZone have them check the ECU to see what codes are pulling up. Come back and post the code. From there we can determine whats you should do.
