Strange LED Door Problem

So I had replaced the bulbs in my doors with hyper white LEDS. Today I discounted the light bulb in my glove box and wired two leds from them and placed them in my front two center vents. Then I took out the lil switch thingy in the glove box that makes the light in the glove box go on or off depending on weather its open or not. Today on my way home from work I notcied that the dirver side LED light in the door stayed on even when the door was shut. Whjat caused this? The only thing I could thing off is I had a lil peice off alumnim foil behind the LEDS so it would shine brighter I guess this is what caused the LED to short out. What can I do now? Also this is off topic but how do I get my driver and passenger side vents out??

ya i just pulled the light out for now. is there something in the switch you can fix? i'd rather not have to buy one since i already soldered white LEDs in all my window switches.
