SE door trim

I want some SE door trim for my GLE because I hate the chrome

where can I get some and how much does it cost?

I'm thinking the nissan dealership is the best place to look?

Most SE are actually painted to match the car. I have a feeling that if you dig into it, it will probably be chrome. The next best thing to do is find black electric tape and cover it up. Cut excess as needed, it surprisingly enough lasts a while.

Darkgle I'd say go to the junk yard and pick up some. My cuzin bought his door handles (outside) for $65 and he painted the exact color of the car. Looks really good.

I've already painted my grill and handles, I meant the window trim, the SE's have a rubber look while mine is chrome, and to me chrome=bad

Best bet is used. I picked up my set for like $80 in the classifieds. Brand new is in the neighborhood of $600 for the entire set from the stealership. If your VIN starts with a "J" reach for your life savings.

the trim around the windows is a PAIN IN THE ***. to remove. I removed half of my car's trim and decided it wasnt worth the hassle to take it off and paint it and put it back on. The **** is wedged on there and you'll probably brake/bend them and scratch up your paint trying to figure it out.

What i did, and it worked surprisingly well....Is, I taped up all around the trim..just take some time and go along the edges with some blue painters tape and then attach newspaper to cover anywhere overspray might get onto your paint. Its tedious, it takes awhile, but its worth it and it only costs as much as the can of paint and the tape...I think i used black duplicolor wheel paint.

Why not just use black tape that was made to cover up chrome trim?

Junk yard is the way to go, if you can find them all in good condition without them being damaged. They are very easy to ruin. Dubbya pulled my black SE trim off a Max and did a really good job. When I pulled mine off to swap out the chrome for the black I managed to destroy the back door pieces. They go in failry easy though.
The black makes a world of a difference.

What do you think is used on the pillars? Buy the roll, and just put it on. Make sure you use something such as a credit card or a fingernail to make sure it's flushed to the surface of the trim. Then cut off the excess with a razor.

Painting is probably easier, but IMO the tape looks better (if applied correctly).
