300ZX Fuel Filter

I just wanted to make sure I was correct about this before I bought one. You can use a 300ZX fuel filter on a 4th gen with no extra modification needed, right??? What are the postivies of using the 300ZX filter instead of the maxima one??? Thanks guys.

i switched to a 300zx fuel filter, no mods required, one advantage is double the life span (arguable because some here say the fuel filter filters better when its dirty thus u can keep it on longer). get the 96 TT 300zx fuel filter

How can a dirty fuel filter be better? I know changing it to a more flowing filter is better. I was at the track with my j30 and i ran a 16.05 @90 for two runs. When i went back in the staging lane i changed the fuel filter to a high flow fuel filter, those tubes were like glued on.., ran one last time and got 15.91 @ 90 ,it helps your car get off the line a little bit better. So don't expect much from doing this.

maybe ur filter was clogged to the point of choking off the supply. there is a fine line betwee na dirty filter that is still operable, and a clogged filter.

search and u'll find out, i am not about to repeat myself for the gazzilionth time

I just got one since I figured I needed a new fuel filter and people recomended it. Don't expect any performance boosts, but I don't see how a bigger fuel filter could hurt at all. Doesn't require any modifications, but the tubes are much more difficult to get on since it's slightly larger.

well after i changed my max fuel filter to a "high flow" 300 zx filter,
i slashed my 1/4 time by 2 sec!
so there has to be performance gains dude!

Or your old filter was so damn dirty that it was choking off fuel from your engine. That was not a performance gain, you just got back to where you should have been with a properly operating fuel filter.

I really never have noticed an increase in difficulty with sliding the hoses on.

naw you can just bend the existing bracket outward a bit and it fits perfectly in there. i didnt add or subtract anything to get it to sit right.

actually the apertures are almost identical. there is really no difference between the two other than the width of the actual cannister.
