ok guys ive been working on this today and found an adapter, got my k&n on it and got it in my car. got pics but questions first.
1: the sensor in the stock box, is that a air velocity sensor? do i need to hook that up somehow?
2: i was thinking about taking my resonator off since i heard it gives the car a deeper/louder sound, what do i do with the opening and hose then? i cant just run the car without the resonator cause that will let dirty air in the engine.
3: do i need to cut a hole in the wheel well as ive heard to let more air flow in? i still have the air flowing from the front of the car since it was cracked where it attached to the box so i only took off the box where the old filter sits. (See the last pic)
pics:
the adapter on the MAF

how the adapter is bolted on the MAF, ghetto but makes a tight seal

with the filter

where it will go, plus you can see where the air flow still comes in from the front of the car:

I think you are talking about the IAT sensor, just zip tie it somewhere I think.
Leave the resonator, it's good and is there for a reason.
You should only cut your fender well for a PR CAI.
Wow I think that's a wrong adapter you got there. Mine fits directly into the MAF sensor's holes.
I also got my MAF adapter from a local performance shop.

my roommate told me it measures the temp, hes not a mechanic tho so could be wrong, either way i got that gage in there (and theres a plug for the whole which gives it a tight seal), see pic:

it was the only 3" adapter they had and it said you could drill holes to match the MAF but mine has a tight seal and holds good as shown (believe it or not).
also what does the resonator do exactly then? i heard it is only there soften the sound a bit.
pic of it all together in car:

as far as the sound it creates, i think it sounds great and is worth it.

Quite in fact, I'm in the process of converting BACK to a stock intake, and I have an 00VI which would benefit more from the supposed high-end power gains of a short ram intake. Says something about the box, no?
