Car is totalled.. (pics added)

Hey guys its been a fun run and I've have an awesome time on the .org with you all being there to answer questions and vice versa.

Anyhow last night we were driving some windey roads out in the boondocks and a car came around the corner over the line and there was gravel on the side of the road; well I veered right and my passender side tires hit the gravel and sent us careening off on a slope of grass into not 1 tree, not 2 trees, but the maxima enduring hitting 3 trees at 50mph due to no stopping power in the wet grass as it was beginning to rain.

Both airbags deployed and all doors besides the passenger front were completely sealed shut. I was smashed in pretty bad and glass was all over me and I couldnt move my knee. My friend was completely fine and neither of us had a concussion. A miracle me and passenger lived..

Police came, apoligized, and then left shortly after making sure we were okay and the tow truck hauled what was left of an A32b chassis away. I have been unable to rescue any of the mods off the car which is very sad as I promised some folks like Nismology, JSutter and other first dibs on anything if something every managed to happen with my car.

I feel like I failed my car which always appealed to me as having a living soul to it, it always took care of me and I will never respect another car as much as the Nissan Maxima. It saved our lives and brought many months of joy to my life and I'm devasted to see it go.

I'll still be around to answer questions and read, but thank you all, it was a pleasure..

Yeah I was getting ready to swap a 3.5 into it, sometimes life ends things right when they begin to get good. Thanks for the compliment.

But you know what dont leave the community buy a 5.5 gen or a 6th gen.

Do you know what Junkyard or autobody shop they took your car to. what did the insurance say about it.

Thanks for all the replies.. I'll still be around giving advice and such.

I'm thinking the next car is an S14 with a VQ35 in it. I just dont think I could ever own another maxima after this last one. It was the only maxima for me and to get another one just wouldn't set well with me.

But, I'm gonna try to get some stuff off of it and get everything squared away and I'll find some way to contribute to you guys haha.

When you guys see the pics, you may wanna leave the room.. It bent so many things in half that you would never think could even budge.

The engine however was COMPLETELY in tact and not a single leak int he car and I think the MT may be still intact. Suspension, CAI and exhaust all seemed fine as well. We'll see.

Sorry to hear that dude. Noted you mention your car has a soul. Know the feeling. Cars come and go, but another one will come to take its place and fill the hole.

I live for cars.. especially one vq powered

Aww shit, not you too...

While I'd like to think I'd let the retard hit me, I'd probably have done the exact same thing as you. It's a damn shame... but it really is good that you're both alive. That car loved you and gave its life for you. Just make sure to give it a proper funeral...

I am sorry to hear of this...but thank god you both are okay. The Maxima is one safe car...I know two people who have totaled maximas and walked away from them.

One was a 98 SE that went 50 mph head on into a tree. My friends dad walked away with cuts and bruises....untouched. A friend of mine lost control on a narrow sidestreet a few weeks ago in a 5th gen at 70-80 mph and hit a telephone pole...spinning around and back into a ditch. He hit his head on the windshield but he only had to have stitches.

These cars are unbeilevably safe and thank god you are both ok. Just remember that you can replace a car, but you cannot replace a life.

Thanks again.. I just cant believe it, I'm usually such a safe driver and I know my limits and what happens when you dont'.

I'll miss her.. On a side note the wreckers were shocked that were were trying to pick up this smashed up Maxima when clearly it was a "Cefiro" indicated by front and rear badges lol.

I felt even worse when I saw my engine, exhaust and newly painted intake staring at me in what seemed to be disbelief, at least to a person like me who believed so much in his car.

Seems like your Maxima gave a final thank you for being so well looked after.
Man.. those words really just ate into me man, I'm on the verge of having tears. I used to kiss it goodnight every once in a while and tell it what a grand car it was. Just seeing it die go so young was the hardest part and I'll always remember it. I really loved it like a sibling, I think only the ppl on the .org could ever understand how I felt.

The departed Maxima wouldn't have wanted you to spend your life in mourning. When the time is right, move on... and get another 4th gen.

I just saw your bulletin on myspace, and I had to come here and see the full story. Unfortunately, this is the chance we all take every time we bring our Maxima out on the public roadways with other drivers everywhere... She treated you well, as you did her. Best of luck, man. Give that insurance company the hell they deserve.

The 4th Generation '98 A32 Maxima SE saved the lives of my good friend and myself..

To me it was the single greatest car ever manufactured. When it left on the tow truck I more or less thanked it for all the good times and tonight when I was out with friends talking about cars I caught myself thinking/ staring at different modded maximas parked around me.

If the Maxima has been RWD, I would never own another car.. I actually give thanks it was FWD because that way its easier for me to let go of the angst. I just make up excuses in my mind on why I shoudl move on, but the car was so great it always finds itself back inside my mind.

(PICS up hopefully tomorrow)
