Pads

I just put Porterfields on my fronts. Excellent bite. Noticable difference. I highly recommed them and they are reasonnably priced. I've had them about 4 months. They dust about the same as OEM's, but I care more about the performance.

Re: Pads

i just put on Axxis Metal Master Pads they don't seem to dust but they squeal very loudly. as far as drilled or slotted i read somewhere that slotted are better because they offer same venting and are less likely to fracture.

There are three "performance" brake pads for the Maxima.

Porterfields - great braking, suitable for light track use, but pads are expensive

Axxis Metal Matrix - great braking, good price

EBC Green Stuff - great braking, dusts like crazy

As far as rotors, slotted and cross drilled do not offer any performance above normal vented discs. The advantage of cross drilled and slotted is to relieve outgassing from the pads, but for a Maxima that is not really a concern.

FYI, I have Brembo blanks and Porterfield pads on order, should arrive anyday now. Check the 4th gen forum sticky for brake pad/rotor info.

RE: Brake Pads...

EBC Green Stuff for street use, EBC Red Stuff for racing. Both have little brake dust, are VERY effective, and not too much money (About $70/axle for Red Stuff, $50/axle for Green Stuff). They have a low friction level to keep rotors cool. Just trying to help.
