I use Castrol GTX 5W-30. Always have and never had any problems. I have posted a similar question previously and was told that using the Castrol is fine especially if you change your oil regularly. Some on here swear by the Mobil 1, but I don't know if it's worth the extra money. However, if you don't prefer to change your regularly you may want to consider going synethetic.

Nissan specifies 5w30. Conventional oil along with a good filter (such as Nissan OEM) should be good for 5000 miles. Synthetic oil is good for even longer, at least 7500 miles.

As for brand, that's a personal choice. Most any API approved oil is fine.

Depends on drain interval when using synthetic.....A synthetic can go 10k between changes, so any standard oil filter should be replaced at 5k. However, the "pricey" filters such as Mobile 1 or Purolator PURE ONE (the $10 ones) should be able to last 10k without changing.

My oil analysis spreadsheet proves this is possible.....
