Intake removal proceedure??

Hey guy`s you have always helped me in the past. now I need your help again.
I have a 99 max se cali spec. and I need to remove my intake to get at my knock sensor. I saw the write up on the sticky but I can`t even see it on my motor.
If anyone has a haynes book could you let me know the step by step instructions.
Thanks Johnny

To remove the intake, you should unclip the four clips on the upper airbox, there is a 10mm bolt to unbolt also, it's behind the airbox. Then unscrew the clamp that clamps the intake to the throttle body. Your midpipe with the MAF sensor and upper airbox should come out giving you a tiny bit of more space.

You do not see it because you need to remove the swirl valve and other vacumn lines to reach at it. The hole is actually a tad smaller than on fed spec cars, and it will take longer to do than on a fed spec car.

You do not need to take off the IM to get to the KS. You're making yourself go through a lot of extra work. Just use an extension and swivel joint. You should be ok. You have a little less room on cali spec to get in there but you can do it.
