Iacv

Anybody have any pictures or diagrams on how to change or clean your IACV. I believe that's the problem I'm having. When I'm sitting at a traffic light the RPM slowly moves to 500 - 600 - 700 and then comes back down.

Correct me If I'm wrong.

It could be a number of things that would affect that, including TB/MAF/Air Filter, even a bottle of FI cleaner could clean it up.

For ease of things, take out your Intake assembly, then disconnect the 4 connectors. On the IACV assembly you'll have 4 12mm bolts I believe, as well as a phillips head screw holding the fourth connector bracket.

Take the screw out and just let the connector/assembly there dangle. Unbolt all 4 bolts and take off the IACV, watch for the metal gasket. You could also use to replace that gasket at this time.

Someone chime in here, if I remember right you clean the gold cap you see, and on the opposite side of that you can unscrew that brown thing and clean in there as well. Watch for a spring assembly, I remember there being one in there somewhere

I've cleaned mines twice before i decided to replace it. The CEL came on and i cleaned it the first time, and i had it cleaned again, and the CEL light came back on. Even though it was a bit expensive (i believe around $130 for an aftermarket), i ended up replacing it and the code never came back.

what did you clean it with? Do you think it might be the solution you used to clean it with?

here is from when i did this:

did the TB at the same time as well as changed the KS. make sure u replace the metal gasket, never reuse gaskets, its only a few dollars. do not adjust the iacv screw until u put everything back and check ur idle - or even wait a week or more for it to settle down on its own.
