HELP with my evap

my evap control valve has a broken tube that is giving me a 1008 code. my car does not start right... i would normaly say that obviously thats the problem and reason why my car wont start right, it starts but sounds like its misfiring and then dies, however i just did a header and y pipe upgrade so i would like to know if that would cause it as there are many things that can go wrong with a project like that.

i dont think your exhaust work would do that. i had an evap code a while back.had to replace the canister or the control solenoid or something. that part ot self was like $118 and it was about $150 out the door. fixed the problem which was similar to yours, but my car never died. i had terrible gas milage and very hard starts. i hope you fixing the hose will fix your problem
