big coolant leak

Hey guys, I have coolant pouring from somewhere on the car. It is dripping in between the ac compressor and the oil pan. After filling it up, it is empty in about 15 minutes worth of driving. I have some pictures showing the general area where the leak is coming from. The pics are at http://s203.photobucket.com/albums/aa299/matt021126/
If any of you would know for sure what it would be, or what to check, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

edit: this is on a 96 gxe

unless you have a leaky hose, than it's the water pump seals

It’s definitely your Water pump seal. Mine did the same and I replaced the whole water pump.

I bought the pump from the For Sale section of the forum and bought the seal online for around $10.

It took me two days to do the project but that is because I have big hands. The space is very limited. There is a great write up on here outlining how to do it. The hardest part for me was trying to get the screws back into the wholes I couldn’t see when reassembling.

Best of luck!! Let us know if you have any questions.

All you need is the seal though. You can use your old water pump but since you took it out you might as well replace it. Mine cost $30 shipped from the For Sale Section

ya, i just did my water pump a week ago actually due to coolant leaking in that same area. The black o-ring was worn pretty bad. I just bought a brand new oem water pump for $80 (here, the japan one) and replaced myself. took about 8 hours with an hour break for a beginner mech. just follow the how to carefully and youll do fine.

after the job there was no more leak, most likely you only need the seals for $10 but everyone says since its such a long/difficult job you might as well go all out. plus remember autoshops will charge around 400 labor for this.

ya....exactly... you can do this yourself, it will seem like a *****, but for that much compared to $10 or $80 you will want to do it yourself

Thanks guys. I looked at the how-to on the water pump install. Looks easy, just time consuming. Maybe my remarkably small hands and arms will come in handy on this one! Thanks for the offer on the used water pump, but if i'm going to spend the time changing it I think i'm just going to go with a new one.
