Stalling problem fixed!

Okay so pretty much since ive had my car I have had this very annoying stalling problem. Sometimes when I switched to reverse or from reverse to drive it would stall, and pretty much everytime I went over 1300 rpms in reverse it would stall. I also had some starting problems that were a mystery as well. It turned out that there where 3 broken wires in the engine harness. Once my mechanic was able to find the broken wires and fix them it hasnt stalled once and has been starting perfectly ever since. I havent had any problems since i've got my car back so im very relieved that this problem has finally been resolved.

Also my cel came on a couple weeks ago, it was on for a week and then I pulled the codes and it was a egr flow malfunction ( i recently replaced the valve with a new one) but then about a week ago it went off and hasnt returned. My mechanic was going to look at the problem but he said there were no codes saved in the system so he cant really do anything. He said the wires may have just triggered the code even though there was no problem. So could that have caused it? Thanks

Did you install the valve correctly? I'm glad you fixed your problem, what were the broken wires?

I didnt do any of the work myself, my mechanic did. When I picked it up from his house it was dark out but he showed me that the wires went from the front passenger side of the engine bay towards the top of the engine bay on the same side. He also installed the new valve and I doubt he messed up. He said it took him so long because when a wire is broken you cant tell by looking at it so he had to squeeze the wires to feel soft spots. I dont know if this helps at all but the wires where on the passenger side..

i believe the possibility of engine wire breakage causing problems is part of TSB and this is the first posting i ve ever come across that dealt with this issue.

So it turned out that the wire connected to the pcm and was causing my stalling problem. My mechanic said that eventually I would have started stalling in drive not just in reverse.

Rad,

Did this solve the problem with having to switch from P to N to start the car?
