Rear suspension sag more with system?

Alright, this may look like a dumb topic/question, but it's been bugging me for quite some time now. I have a 1998 maxima which has been lowered via tokico struts and eibach springs. the rear is noticibly lower than the front. i have searched the forums to find that the maxima is known to do this, correct? Now if i add two 12'' subs in a custom (lighter than mdf) box, will my rear sag even more? Will it not matter because it's already lower? I know i should just put the audio in to see, but im just curious as of right now.

thanks

it seems fairly obvious that if it is sagging already and you add more weight that the suspension will drop down lower.

I think it would depend on how much your 'system' weighs, obviously.

well thanks for those obvious answers, i guess my question was is there a point where the suspension doesn't sag, or is that the point when the body rubs the wheels?

Huh? You put weight in the rear, it's gonna sit lower. Obviously the more weight, the lower it will sit. You can try and counter balance that by putting in springs that drop the front significantly lower than the rear (H-Tech's) or get some Koni Yellows where you can raise the perch on the rear. Depending on the weight of your subs, it could then sit even or if on the lighter side, it could provide you a nice and subtle raked look (which I think is the *****)

You know what i've tokico struts too with h&R springs. I have a 15 power acoustik **** sub with two amps in the back. Yes it does sit low. I even changed my springs back to stock since the ride quality was too harsh. It's a little bit higher but the back still sits too low. Trust me i understand your frustration. It seems like the maxima looks tired and lazy.

Please help, so what is the smoothest springs: eibachs progressive, etc etc, to drop my car 1-2inches in the front to balance out the rear sag. I have 20" rims on the car with tokico illumnia and se springs. So how cani lower the front and still get a smooth ride as in factory. I had the h&R's before and that was awful to ride my *** is still sore from it. Eibachs advertise their progressive springs as still riding smooth while lowering. so whats the truth.

umm....get adjustable coilovers with 7/5k spring rates....or ever lower...lower the spring rate means softer suspension, but means you can't corner as hard and will have more body roll...

The more weight you put on a spring, the more it compresses. Unless you have a ridiculous strong spring that requires a lot of load to compress it, then that is the only time you won't see a sag because you don't have enough weigh to compress it. But thats very highly doubtful....but with the adjustable coilover...(this is what i have done). I put the box in and set the coilovers to two finger gaps. But once i take out the box, the back will now sit higher than the front.

Eibach (progressive)
Front: 166-257 lbs/in

OEM SE springs (linear) estimated:
Front: 250 lbs/in

Seems like the eibachs are the closest to the se factory springs. Does anyone have eibach springs on their maximas, let me know how it rides

TEIN High-Tech ("H-Tech") (progressive)
Front: 180 lbs/in
TEIN S-Tech (progressive?)
Front: 200 lbs/in

Seems like teins are pretty much like factory spec. but i want to know just like the eibach are they indeed as soft as factory springs

rear koni struts have 2 perch levels. if you have a saggy *** and want to fix that, the best way is to go with konis. some springs are engineered to not have the saggy ***, which is a fender arch thing in reality. look for a drop less out back by about 0.5"

no, the stock springs are not that high. they are around 120. i believe bejay1 did some calculations and came up with about 105 in/lbs

eibachs are about the stiffest you can get. h tech are much closer to stock, yet still much stiffer than stock. tokico and h&r springs are among the softer springs.

ok i just want to lower the front so it closes the wheel gap. so which lowering springs lowers 1.5-2inches and rides smooth still, i had h&R and they are not soft trust me.

KSPORT drop springs balance the car rather well between the front and back. The front is noticeably dropped a little further.. However under load, the front and the back sit level, no sagging. Trust, I had 2 people in the back, each weighing at least 210lbs., and the car sat fine.

Hey gstrength: how does the ksport drop springs feel though, as in right quality honestly. I have se springs the in front i need springs that are ACTAULLY as soft if possible and drops the front 2inches max. i had H&Rs and they are not soft. I'm riding on 20"s right now and just want to get rid of the wheel gap that's all. The rear sags already and it sits fine i just want to lower the front
Maxim kid: how does the eibach feel though as in ride. i just want to put the lowering springs in the front that's it. Hey what kelvin is your fogs, those are sick. Coilovers are known be give a very very very rough ride

So the main question: which lowering springs are the softest for ride quality from experience not from what people research cause they are wrong about H&Rs being soft.

I dont know why KSport gets bad reviews from some people. Most people hear one story and base there opinions on that testimony with out ever trying it themselves. The KSport drop springs in my opinion are good springs. They feel comfortable, actually they help absorb bumps like stock setup. The handling is definitely better, I dont care what anyone tells you. You should give them a try with KYB struts.

Eibach feels good to me...honestly i didn't notice any difference from stock cause I bought the car all the shocks were blown....I used eibachs with kyb's and have no complaints...I do want to drop the front a lil more because my heaaavvyyy box mad the rear look lower

The fogs were extreme blue, but I took them off I have 8k in there now a lot more visibility that what I had before...but I do loooveee the way it came out in the pic lol

The basic answer is yes, guys.

You'll also notice the rear of the car lower with a full tank of gas.

Anytime you add weight to a car, you are looking at 'sagging' in some way, shape or form. Either in the performance side, or the ride height side.

The KSport 'bad reviews' are more towards the guys rocking the full coilovers.

I have the coilovers, and I am quite happy with them, but they're far to stiff for most people who are used to a 'comfort' oriented ride.
