did I lock it wrong?

On thursday I replaced my driver side axle (bad cv boot). Installed new one and drove car for rest of the day and friday. Everything was OK till today morning.
Under my car I get oil spill I noticed that its leaking from O-ring where axle is installed. WTF? I couldnt damege seal because everything was ok for almost 2 days. Than I started playing with axle to check if its not loose or something. When I pushed it harder axle jumped into tranny and it stopped leaking.

Did I get wrong axle, maybe I locked it wrong during installation. Now I have driven car for 3 miles and no leak so far.
