I had a molded lip. Car was too low. I hit some things, the mold cracked...

Jeremiah - Nice ride bro.. I like the hood too. Not TOO much, just right. They should have painted the background of your grille (behind the emblem) black though, so it faded to the background. Other than that, killer!

Here's a pic of my ride with the 97-99 grille, in black. The OP wanted to see one in black. Here it is. Wish I had a better pic, but I'm at work right now.

Those tires and rims are for going straight, notice the lack of tread on them?

Just funnin' this thread a bit.... there is no grill mounted on the car right now.

If you read the mods list, you should realize that this car does serious work on the drag strip. The tires are 15x12" Hoosier slicks on 15x10 M/T ET Drag wheels - and yes, it steers just fine like that. They don't even rub the traction bars.

I had pulled the grill and front license plate holder and topside wind deflector before this photo. Folding back the mirrors is also part of the master plan.

Again, just a little fun here...

Your's is sweeet 2 man. That's exactly how I'd do up a black max if I had one....with that smoked look. As far as my grille goes.....i dunno...i could have had it painted either way....when it was painted that way, it was an accident...i decided just to leave it, and i like it...but it has crossed my mind to do what you said. Have a good 4th man!

Yeah I decided I'm going to paint my 97 chrome grille black this weekend, to match my body color. I like the look.

One body mod you should do is get that rear bumper to match the quarter panel of your car,

Its like that because when the bumper was painted it was painted off the car and they didnt blend the paint, it didnt come like that from the factory. At some point that bumper was repainted. It looks as if your trunk is the same way.

Here's the grill tech grill silver on my 96 max:

Then I cut away the stock grille, painted the grill tech grille black, and put it back on.

Thanks. I bought mine off a member here, but they used to sell them on Tire Rack. These days, I think they're discontinued.

Hey Flava, have any pics of that 97-99 front still with the grill before you got the 95/96 poles extended with your CF Hood?

Nope, I never installed the 95-96 grill without it being altered. I used a black 97-99 grill before that.

Hey Flava, who did you buy your front lights from? How much did they cost you?

Totally agree, its not JDM, its weight savings, thats always what its been. Ricers just have played it out for looks. To each their own, I think the car looks fine, minus the grill which isn't my taste
