Hi, I'm a new member and new owner of a 1999 Max SE. I can't figure out how to remove the shift **** on my 5sp. Any suggestions? Thanks

Get a good grip on it and twist counter-clockwise...

The **** is threaded and the factory uses a thread sealer. The way to get it off is brute force!

Removing Shift ****

When you take off the shift **** to put on an aftermarket one do you have to do anythign else? Will the new one just slide over and stay on or do you need to rethread or anything like that?

95% of the aftermarket ***** will slide over the threads. The aftermarket ***** are held into place with three set screws, they supply the alan key also.
