I think I broke my ecm screw

I've had this ongoing 02 sensor CEL problem, and now hopefully it might be resolved, but I've been reseting the ECM with a good ol' fashioned screw driver, and it no longer stops on the little marker, it just turns and turns and turns...I hope I haven't just put a major dent in my wallet...

why would u keep resetting the ECU if u got a code ?

this is dumb, im sorry but masking the problem DOES NOT MAKE IT GO AWAY

next time, when ur car tells u: " Hello Owner, my o2 broke down and i cant mix A/F properly, can u please fix it" you should say: " Sure my dear maxima" and not "Shut up my stupid maxima you dont know what you are talking about"

Sorry but i HAD to make it sound THIS simple ...

PS: This is the way your maxima punished you for resetting the ECU for no reason, and for not listening to it

Ummm, because I changed multiple sensors...I'm not randomly resetting the ecu in hopes that it'll go away...

oh ok thats another story, so u replace the sensor and the same code remains after resetting the ecu huh

lets see, try leaving the battery disconnected for some time

are u sure u r reading the code correctly ? and ar eu sure u r replacing the correct sensor ? of its o2 then u may have replaced the wrong sensor in the Y

but if the screw is kaput, then u should get a scanner

Don't do this...it does nothing other than reset your clock, radio presets, and trip odometers.

I bought this one off ebay a while back. So far, I've pulled codes form my 98 max twice and a 98 grand prix once. It's easy to use and seems to do what I need it to do.

this kinda seems like the problem i had..... Except, it was the screw driver that was spinning not the ECU thingy.. cheap plastic stuff.. I just used a bigger screw driver and made my own fitment. My guess is i have about 2-5 ECU reads left before its completly garbage.
