JWT ECU -- auto in manual

JWT ECU -- auto in manual
well, before i bought my ecu, i never really got a definitive answer but i took the jump for it anyways. I was hesitant of buying the auto ecu for my 5spd, but no 5spd ecu's were available at the time, and i got a good price on it too! install was a PITA..those 2 bolts you have like no access room, and all the harnesses are attatched to the ecu..one of them i had such a hard time getting off, i just cut the zap strap that went around it..be careful not to slip and cut into the actual harness itself.
Well the reason why im doing this is because there are a lot of comments otherwise at the auto ecu in a 5spd throwing tons of codes and making it idle funny and throttle blips. The codes were checked via the nissan consult 2 at my work..free ofcourse lol..
First of all:
I only have 3 codes, 2 of them are automatic tranny related, the other one is the good ol P0136, now i figure its becuase i dont even have a rear 02 sensor in there right now, but i figure once its in ill have to swap some wires around.
P0136, P0600(A/T COMM LINE), P1605(A/T DIAG COMM LINE)
second, it idles fine, i noticed when i start it, the revs dont go up the way they use to but, its probably better this way, warm start the revs go up to about 1000 then idles at around 800-850.
third the throttle blips when you put it into gear. it was so minor, i dont know how anyone could complain about it. I was so surprised at how minor it was i even got the consult 2 out, my idle was at 850, when i put it into gear it went up to 890-900. 50rpm blip..does NOT bother me at all.
The best thing about this is the power, its hard to believe an ecu can do so much, but it does, i guess the maxima is tuned so conservativley, its not a sports car or anything.
Should also not this is on a 98 5spd. with intake, ypipe, catback, cat, udp and now ecu. mevi should be coming soon too.
If any of you are wondering why i made this thead, it is to dispell the myths about tons of codes and what not. Also the fact that it took me ages to get a final answer about the auto ecu in the manual, because everytime i read a thread id get a different answer.

yep i had the rear 02 code before. My apexi WS catback was designed for the 95-96 max with the 02 sensor in the cat. while my car being a 97-99 its in the bpipe, i was in a rush that day and never got around to putting in the rear 02. I imagine the code will still arise, not a big problem, swapping ecu's isnt hard, just unplug the jwt and leave the oem hanging on the side lol..just the rediness thing, shouldnt be too hard, as i the consult and my work is a certified aircare inspection place lol..
Thanks Tim, i love the ecu, totally changed the car. The reason why im going mevi is just for the ease of install. bolt on and not having to worry about any issues after. I figure if im not happy with it, ill put in a VQ30DEK(i got a timing cover leak lol). As i will have one of those at my disposal very soon
