remote door locks

I've got a 96 maxima that does't have remote locks and I have a couple of parts cars that does. Just wondering what I would have to swap to make it work. Thanks in advance

I dunno anybody who's done this. When I installed my aftermarket keyless entry, It looked like there were couple parts needed. Maybe the audio/electronics forum can help you. Pearl96max seems to be an expert in this field, find him in the other forum. good luck!

OK, I'm going to ask the NOOB question. Didn't all 4th gens come with remote entry? Have you tried programming a key fob?

My car had 2 full function keys and a valet key. There is no keyless entry in my stock gxe base 5sp.

Neither I could get the hazards lights to flash, on my first try. You can check if you have LCU05 -- Multi-remote control unit, p/n 28595-40U60. It is placed in your trunk near antenna.

Did it have connector in the trunk for the remote box (lcu05)? It seems that not the LCU05 flashes the lights, but the BCM itself (make sure that you have "multi-remote-relay" installed. yet, I don't know where is it). BTW, on my car I can get the light flashes only in this way:
1. unlock and open door with the key
2. lock it with the button, while the door is still opened
3. close the door
4. insert key more than 6 times within 10 seconds.

Could you run an "IVMS communication diagnostic" with and without LCU05 attached to see if there's any differences?

How to activate On-board Diagnosis — Mode I (IVMS communication diagnosis), copy&paste from FSM:
Condition
- Ignition switch: OFF
- Lighting switch: OFF
- Rear window defogger switch: OFF
- Doors: Closed
- Interior lamp: Center “O” position

1. Turn ignition switch “ON”.
2. Return ignition switch to “OFF” and press rear window defogger switch
more than 10 times during 10 seconds.
3. Reaction: Self-diagnostic results indicator lamps should turn on.
4. Rear window defogger switch stays OFF
5. Turn ignition switch “ON” within 5 seconds after the indicator lamps turn on (mine was on anyway, but rest of the procedure worked)
6. Reaction: Indicator lamp turn off
After a second, Mode I is performed
7. Turn ignition switch “OFF” to end Diagnosis

After indicator lamp turns on for 2 seconds then off for 2 seconds, it flashes [cycling ON (0.5 sec.)/OFF (0.5 sec.)] to indicate a malfunction code of the first digit. Then, 1 second after indicator lamp turns off, it again flashes [cycling ON (0.5 sec.)/OFF (0.5 sec.)] to indicate a malfunction code of the second digit. For example, the indicator lamp goes on and off for 0.5 seconds twice and after 1.0 second, it goes on and off for 0.5 seconds four times. This indicates malfunction code “24”.

Code 11 means no errors.

Without LCU05 I get error #55, which means LCU05 -- No response from data line A-1
