Good Place to get an A/C Compressor ??

Well it looks like my compressor is leaking from the bottom port looking thing...almost looked like a tire pressure gauge tester...not sure if thats where they leak from. I got it from a junk yard about 4 summers ago, so I guess its time to just bite the bullet and get something new. I already have a new dryer so I wont have to replace that.

Anyone with similiar experiences with purchasing a NEW A/C Compressor, please let me know where you purchased from. I DONT want a remand unit. NEW ONLY

The cheapest I found was online and in stores. Honestly I don't think your gonna be able to find a brand brand new one for a good price let alone finding one that was never remand. All I got to say is just avoid anything at the junkyard cause the last thing that u need to happen is to contaminate ur whole system.

you'll still have to replace the drier. anytime you open the system you have to replace it. the desiccant is quickly spent in the presence of atmospheric moisture.

If the new compressor is installed within a short time of opening the system, your drier will be fine. I have done many AC jobs. I have even had one open for several hours with no consequences. Just pull a vacuum for 30 minutes or so to boil out all the moisture.

The place that SVI30 recommended was out of stock on the new units. I ended up with a reman instead at $250. If it dies I'll probably be ready to junk the car and get an Altima coupe.

its good hvac practice to replace the filter drier any time you open a sealed system. i wouldnt take any chances, spend the extra money and replace the filter drier as well.
