HELP!! car wont let me shift!!

I was doing the shift **** mod by ptatohed and i accidently dropped one of the screws from the new **** assembly into the pole that holds the skinny bar and now its preventing me from shifting.

I was wondering what the best thing to do would be in the situation?

Also, is it alot of work to remove the rod to get to the screw and does anyone have instruction on how to do it?

I would really appreciate some help on the matter.
From anyone.

Thanks,

Why not try to remove the screw, your prolly going to have to remove the whole shifter assembly to get to it...

Good luck...

thats not cool, and u dont got much room to play with there, i would get a long screw driver and try knock it loose up and get a one of those skinny attenna magnets, and than start poking and praying.

so i went to a mechanic and he quoted me 400$ to replace the shift assembly.
He said he couldn't get the screw out.

Any thoughts?

Fish it out, if it got in there it will definitely come out unless u keep grinding it in by shifting. Do wat MaxFanatik said.

get a high strength magnet and stick it to the shift linkage by the tranny and work it up to the shifter until the screw falls out?

Magnetize two pieces of clothes hanger wire and start fishing.

Try and knock it loose first, or the magnet wont be strong enough to pull it up.
