Starting problem

hey guys, i couldnt describe this in words, so i made a video. i read and searched and came to the conclusion that it was a grounding issue, because it only does it if its warm and if you turn it off the quickly go to turn it back on, if you let it sit for maybe 3-4 seconds it doenst do it.

It has never done this before, its been an issue that happened maybe a week or 2 ago. I dont think the starter has ever been replaced so i guess that could be a problem.

I used 4 gauge wiring, and went from one of the 14mm starter bolts to the body, i sanded the paint off so it wold have a clean contact surface, i also went from the tranny bolt to the body. did nothing to help the starting issue, but i noticed it seemed to start a little quicker, and better throttle response, but i did clean both my negative and positive terminals which were both very dirty.

heres the vid. any suggestions?

It sounds like it turns over fine at first, then right before it starts up it bogs down a bit, then starts. Is this what is happening? it was a little hard to tell in the video. It didn't look too bad. Mine is a little hard to start when it is warm (not cold, not hot, just warm). I am not sure what the problem could be.

yeah, thats it, it like bogs almost if the battery got low or something and just gets hard to crank then it starts. its one of those things that doesnt look bad on video, but in real life its starting to get bad.

its not uncommon for starters to weaken as the heat increases, weak starts when hot can be reduced by making a heatshield for it or just dealing with it. Honestly i think the underhood temps max's operate is way to high id rather be 180-200 degrees IMO if you could find a way to have your pcm turn the fans on earlier it would help that issue or just hotwire the ****ers

but thats the weird thing though, if i let turn it off, and let it sit for 3-4 seconds it doenst do it, only if i turn it off, and go to start it right away, like if you stall the car which is when i first noticed the problem, i was fiddling with my ipod and didnt realize my pass side wheel was in a pot hole, so i go to take off normally and stalled it lol..then i go to start it quickly and im like WTF.

Maximas have a starting problem sometimes. Mine is all weather related. :[ It hates the cold but just recently my starter wires wiggled loose. So gotta tighten them back up. Its always something, but no worries. I hope you find the problem :]
