another a/c question

When i was charing the freon i realize that the low side got to 35 psi. What did was i just pressed down on the valve of the low pressure side to release some of the pressure to bring down to approximately 27 psi.

I really should have thought that through, but by pressing down that valve is there a possibility that air might have sucked into the a/c system since the low pressure side is also called "suction side"???

You'll b fine Zeeman, no air will b sucked in by pressing down on the valve- the pressure of refrigerant coming out is stronger than atmospheric pressure.

You are fine. The suction side is called the "suction side" because of the refrigeration system itself. The low side gets sucked in to the compressor and discharged out the "high side" i.e. condensor, liquid line, reciever, etc. If you had 27 psi on the low side you are completly fine.
