Good for you. So what #'s do you predict (you under boost)?

This thread was over a long time ago, so let's get technical, and talk about things that haven't been talked about before.

that is the same intake i got from ebay a few days ago. its a PR style. use a dremel to cut a hole. its a TRUE CAI but no carb stickers or anything on it. smog shops might give you a hard time for it.

a lot of people blow their auto and instead of getting a rebuild, spend few bux and swap a used working tranny in. $200 labor + $300 tranny is half the price of a $hitty rebuild most shops offer.

VIP, i know this is way off topic, but if you dont mind my asking, what color is your car. Is it a factory color from another car or custom. Just asking because im planning a repaint in the next few weeks and im drooling over that color.

you dont need a template. they are harder to find now because only the true pr cai supplied the templates. just install it all and line up up with where the tube will go thru.. mark it with chalk or a marker and drill there... thats what i did and it fit perfect

you get what you pay for even if its overpriced and poorly designed (but it has a really neato name ) so worth it just for the sticker and the license plate bracket. i feel totally compensated. injen made my wee wee that much bigger

Sam,

From what I heard it gives you a smooth curve with the stock mid pipe vs the ebay one which dips up an down in power

^^^WhiteA32, thanks... knowing this, I'm gonna leave the fac mid pipe on. That ebay one doesn't exactly fit with out forcing the coupler onto the TB anyways, thanks again.

[QUOTE=garyrr]i would deffiinatley recomend this mod. i notice a loss of low end but a huge increase in high end. go to k2motor.com and look at their 4th gen intakes.. i bought one for 50 bucks. has good welding, comes with filter( which im using till its dirty then ill k&n) and i have not had a problem yet

where the filter is relocated to

has this guy added an extension or something or did he just place the intake down toward the tires? i just bought one off ebay the exact same one i am just seeing <that guy pisses me off by the way

i used a SRT-4 intake on my maxima, i had to cut the pipe a little but but in the end it drops down like the injen intake but sits near the wheel well. i have a few pic's but i am lazy and don't feel like finding them on my pc.

I installed a custom short air intake on my 99 maxima, going to make it cold air shortly, i have a few questions though... is the cold air better then the short? what is the difference really? Also i bought an air respiratior thinking that it plugs into the hole thats on the pipe for the intake, but on this instruction site it says to plug there o2 sensor into that, so where do i put this respirator if anywhere? waht if i put it in that hole and not the o2 sensor?( http://www.geocities.com/nismorg/Maxima/cai.html ) last picture describes what im talking about thanks

CAI pull colder air which is more dense than the regular air which will make more boom in the engine which will give you more power
