Help in finding struts and strut mounts

My front struts and front strut mounts are shot. I took it to a shop nearby and was told the cost of just the parts would be $542.93. This quote isn't for anything stock, but an after market assembly.

I'm wondering (1) where have you guys purchased your struts/mounts from and (2) how much did the parts cost you?

Does that go for Tokico Illuminas as well? I've read some good reviews. I would only get them if the price was comparable to OEM, though.

Yes, I know that if they are really that good then the price would be more expensive, but I'm sure somewhere online some store is selling them for a competitive price.

My problem is, I've looked on all the regular online stores (eBay, Froogle) and haven't found anything cheap.

Any suggestions or stores you've guys have used in the past?

Also, should I replace my rear struts as well or will that not matter since those seem to be intact?

I've heard KYB aren't that good from a lot of different people. I think I'll go with the Tokico Illuminas.

Should I replace my rear struts as well? Also, do I have to buy Tokico strut mounts to use with the struts or will any brand of strut mount fit?

i just purchased a package of Tokico Illuminas and a progress rsb by using this forum... check out the classifieds listed, especially the group buys. the package goes for $890 retail but with the group buy came to $588 for the illuminas. not sure how adept u are to installing urself but if it is somethin that u are able to do, i'd definately recommend going this route. its a great deal.

What exactly did the package come with? Did it include springs and mounts too?

Ebay has tokicos for decent price. I say u should just buy 4 tokico hps and the oem strut mounts from www.everythingnissan.com. Make a thread and see if a local org member around your area can install it for you.

and get oem ones.

I talked to Justin like was suggested:

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=458133

He's able to get me a good deal on some Tokico Illuminas.

I'll just grab some OEM strut mounts.

Thanks for the help, guys!

I just ordered new struts and springs from prostreetonline.com ... got four new Tokico HP ("Blues") and springs for $398.97 shipped (free shipping special)... dunno if they're still running that special, but I'll be receiving everything tomorrow. You might want to check them out.

Would all this be necessary?

Alignment Caster/Camber Kit
Ball Joint
Cam Bolt joit
Front Lower Control Arm
Front Sway Bar Link Bushing
Front Sway Bar Link Kit
Shock Absorber
Shock Boots & Accessories
Shock Mount
Shock Mounting Kit
Stabilizer Bar Link
Strut Assembly
Strut Bearing
Strut Bellow
Strut Mount
Strut Mount Cap

I am planing to pick up the Tokico Illumina Coilover Kit. I don't want to purchase anything extra. I have been looking and looking for a diagram of the suspinsion set-up and cannot fond anything.

Went to a site that was mentioned in this thread and came up with this list above. Site is:

I have the FSM in a pdf. If you want, I could email it to you. It has the diagrams you are looking for, plus more. PM me and let me know.

You could also check out this thread: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=491906. It has the diagrams you are looking for and a list of all the parts you would need.
