Hello all,
I would like to say THANK YOU all for any info. that you may have.
I'm about to get Struts and Spring (H&R) to replace the stock for my '95 GXE Maxima, and here are my questions:
1. Do I need to get the camber kit along with the new set up? (Since it will lower like 1.5 inch ???)
2. Do I have to replace the KYB Strut & Shock Mount kit also? (I've seen it on Tirerack's site)
Once again, thanks million for all the helps. Warm Regards.

If you lower a car any, you should get a camber adjustment kit. It is not neccesary, but if you care about your car's performance and suspension, you will buy one so that you will not ruin your suspension 5,000 miles down the road. After all, you don't want to look like one of those cheap-*ss Civics, do you?
Sorry, I don't quite understand your second question. Are you asking if you have have to replace the strut mounts? I believe they come with all aftermarket struts, and if they don't you don't have to replace them. Just trying to help.

Tirerack.com sell the Strut & Shock Mounts as accessories, I just want to know so I will also buy them at the same time if they are the must replace items (replace them while replacing the struts and springs)
Thanks again for your time.

As I mentioned that I have seen the info at Tirerack's site, it does say "Avg low 1.4" F, 1.3"R" for H&R Sport Spring set. So if I go with H&R set, hope it will look nothing like those Civics as you mentioned, I still need a camber kit, correct? (I'm so sorry, just want to make sure everything going right)Originally posted by Vyrus

IIRC, the factory setting for camber is 0 to -1.0 degrees; your front-end mechanic can look it up for you when you get an alignment. After the install of my Tokico/Eibach set-up, I had -.70 on the left and -.75 on the right. I didn't bother to install camber plates or camber bolts and haven't had any unusual tire wear or handling problems.Originally posted by mechanic

The H&R springs are really nice because they give the car a nice professional looking drop, not an uncanny 4" like the Civics we are all used to. However, the camber adjustment kit will be needed with it. It will the car a perfect toe-in so that the tire will get maximum traction and wear. Just trying to help

My understanding is that Camber and Toe-in are two totally different things...

For the maxima, unless you get sprints you don't need a camber kit. The camber of the tires will still be fine with H&R springs, you should have any unusual tire wear.Originally posted by Vyrus

So to answer the original questions:
1) No you don't need a camber kit.
2) The kit that you are talking about has replacement boots, mounts and bumpers. It depends on the condition of your current parts if it's needed. But in my opinion, unless they are really bad, or old, you can do without them.
