starting issues...again

Lately my car has been having trouble starting. I turn the key, the starter turns but it doesn't fire. It takes at least 30 seconds of cranking for it to finally fire...i have yet to figure out the problem there. So today i go to start it and get the usual crank but only for about 5 seconds. after that, i heard a click and the starter stopped turning. i took the key out and tried again but all that happens is 'click'. i took the starter and battery and had them tested--they are both fine. i reinstalled both and made sure everything was clean/tight, went to start it and it still just clicks. anybody know what the problem could be?

Make sure the connections are tight on the battery terminals.

Follow the negative cable to the ground, and i would suggest taking it off then putting it back on again, snugly.

That might be the problem.

Good luck

well i let the car sit for a while and tried again to start it.....it fired right up without any hesitation. after i drove it and turned it off though, it's back to taking forever to fire. i guess it just didnt wanna be started. im gonna get a mechanic to check it out for me though.

Sometimes A Starter Will Fail Intermittently When It's Hot. Take It Out Cold and It Tests Fine. Is Likely A Bad Starter.
