help=wheel spacers
So i decided to push my tires out a little bit.What size wheel spacers(mm) would you guys recommend for a 99 max SE.?I measured with a ruler from the outside of the tire to the edge of my wheel well and it was 3mm,However on these site,3mm wheel spacers dont look like 3mm on a ruler.Help Please.!!!!
I currently wear 225/45 r18 If i can remember, will look to make sure in the morning.

Yes. A 5mm spacer will literally be 5mm thick.
Using spacers that small really wont make much of a difference visually. They are usually used to gain small clearance or cure fitment issues. Something more along the lines of 7-15mm may be what you are looking for. Go with a bigger spacer in the rear to cure the sunken in look.

Your going to need a bigger spacer in the rear...I measured mine and the rear is about 15mm more sunken in than the front, so if you need a 30mm spacer in the front, you would need a 45mm spacer in the rear, which is enormous. I dont think they make them bigger than 30...

you can get 30mm but they would have to be adapter/spacers i think. e.g. bolt on to your hub and have another set of studs to bolt your wheels on. i have always been against spacers, due to failure, but it seems like they're all good these days. check out h&r or another reputable companies site.

yeah im thinking,i am positive that i measured atlest 25mm-30mm and these **** are exensive as hell............the thing is, i hate when my wheels sit so deep under the well,i want them to push out abit......i guess my next task would be new wheels.That will definately have to wait.

Quite honestly I'm confused about everything you have said up to this point other than you want wheel spacers. Why do you keep focusing on tires? Your first main concern should be your rims and it's dimensions.
What wheels/rims do you have on the car now? How wide are they? What is their offset?

ok,i have on Ion Alloy which are 18's,dont know the offset.It so happened that i wanted my wheels to flush, but after hearing/seeing the price for spacers, might as well just wait and get wider tires with my adr rims.

After seeing your other thread, the ADR wheels look very nice, a spacer in the rear should do it, about 15mm to bring it as flush as the front. IIRC thats the difference I measured between the hubs front compared to back...

Do you really want to spend 250+ On spacers for the front and rear JUST for your bling summer wheels? i mean I have nothing against chrome, its your car, but just think about it...
If you REALLY want something chrome for the summer, then sell those and get something bigger (and/or wider) that fits properly, then just add the spacers in the rear for BOTH sets of wheels, save you some cash, get better fitment, and run wider tires...
How wide are they 7? 7.5? Invest in something wider to put some 245s or 255s

15mm in the rear, 5-10mm up front. Much less than spending a lot of new wheels/tires. Couple that with the fact that well, in order for these cars to be flush up front and in the rear without being staggered this is what needs to be done

He has two sets of wheels, I was saying sell one set and spend a little cash and getting it done PROPERLY, spacers are not the proper way for good fitment, they work well for us Max guys who have the retarded offset hub in the rear, but its always better to just do it right the first time...Or in the case the second...
There are plenty of cheap alternatives out there, Even if he broke even with wheels compared to spacers, he would still be winning. Much rather have a nice wide wheel and tire flush with the front with no need of spacer in the front...
Could just be me, being an s-chassis owner in the past, big wide wheels and flushness just comes natural to me
Edit: There was a famous (well not really) phrase that carried itself around s13/s14 forums for a while....Don't make the wheel fit the car, make the car fit the wheel
