LED mirror shells....

Good evening, I have a question regarding these LED mirror shells from Paradox Systems. I got them painted and went to install them yesterday and got stuck at the point where you have to remove the mirror glass and run the wire through the hole where the wires come through for the power mirrors. That was problem #1, I couldn't get them through that hole and problem #2, do I remove the original mirror cover and replace with LED one, or do these go over the existing mirrors? The problem I see is that there's no where to hide the wire running off the mirror shell....it appears that it's going to be showing. The only place I saw to hide the wire was between the crack where the mirror folds in.... Thank you in advance for a cure for these PITA issues.

Thanks for your reply. Yeah, the pictures and instructions weren't the problem and I do have them. It just appears that the wire from the LED light on the cover is going to be showing, because it's on the outside of the mirror. I was just wondering how people installed these and how and what they did with the wire from the shell.....
thank you

only a small part of that wire will show. You shouldn't be able to see it unless your right up on it or know where to look.

I purchased these lights from paradox, but one ended up leaking and kept moisture in it.
What I've done to hook this up is to remove the side mirrors from the car and drilled a hole. I also ran the wire through the part where the existing wires were. I would also tape the part of the door under the mirror to protect the paint from getting scratched up.
1: remove the interior door panels, the triangle that is left can pop off.
2: unscrew the mirrors from the inside
3: unscrew the exterior bottom screws of the mirror, this way you can see the best way to run your wires.
4: to drill a hole; I would line the shell and the mirror together and mark the spot where the hole would be drilled, which should be very close to the crack.
before drilling, push the mirror inwards, this way you can see the hole from the other side.
Once you drill the hole, it pretty mush self explanatory from there...

Hi, and thanks. That's the reply I was looking for.... Excellent info. I thought it was kind of odd that the wire was going to show. I'm going to attempt this tomorrow. I had a real ***** of a time trying to get the 2 wires from the shell through the hole where the existing wire from the mirror are.... couldn't do it, that's what stopped me and put the car back together... Any suggestions on an easy way to get those wires into the car to hook them up?
Thanks again for your help....

after you've taken the mirrors apart from the bottom screws, I ran the wire through another available opening; I also had trouble getting it through, but I was then able to run the wire down the door panel through the rubber and under the carpet below the dash and eventually made it's way to the back of the gauges/speedometer. I would disconnect your battery before making any connections or messing with wires that is close to your airbag.
Unless you some how plan on connecting your LED's to your fuse box (i am unsure of the wires) or directly to your blinkers (this may be easier) I connected mine through the back of the gauges.

Yeah, I still can't get the wire through to the inside of the car... I tried taking off the 3 bolts on the inside and one broke off....*@**@! Tried everything to get that damn wire through to no avail.... So I decided to take it to a few customizing shops and they get $65./hr and they figure 2 hours...$130. is what I paid for them!!! I give up....unless anyone in this area can help me out, that would be great.
Thanks for the suggestions.

Wow, I hope I don't get to that point....lol. I already paid to have them painted to match the car. The initial wiring is easy once you get that damn wire through. It's real tight through there and I even wrapped the wire in tape to make it more rigid to poke through, to no avail. They're going on the car come hell or high water....Anyone else??

I have several photo illustrations that may help you. What is your email address?

Since you mentioned that one of your screws broke from the interior side, I would still attempt to complete this project by removing the 3 EXTERIOR screws located on the bottom of the mirror.

When you remove these screws, your mirror will dangle, I suggest masking the door with tape to protect it from scratching the paint.
