This CEL for code 0407 keeps coming on, and will just go out and come on while I'm driving. I've already replaced the sensor, so it sounds to me like there is a loose wire somewhere, but how do I go about checking and repairing this?

does it blink and flash or stay on for minutes at a time and disappear?

 

Check the sensor and the grounds.

 

both, it'll stay on for minutes and go away, or sometimes it blinks, once it stayed on for a whole week and then off for another week.


Kevlo, which grounds should I check? (not sure where they are =/) I checked the sensor and the resistance is within the accepted range (470-570 ohms)

 

ok if your cel is blinking then your car is having a cylinder misfire. ( or its thinks it is). Is your car running fine with the CEL on and blinking?

 

It is the two grounds on the lower intake manifold.

Would it be easier to simply cut and reground the sensor somewhere closer?

Getting to the lower intake manifold, doesn't look like very much fun. Can you get to the grounds without removing the uim?

 

The code is pretty solid now, but I checked grounds and such.

Resistance across terminals: 552 ohms (Accepted range 470-570)
Voltage from Blk to ground: -.002 v
Voltage from Wht to ground: -.001 v

Dunno why it came up negative, the meter would go from a really high number like 60-200, and just climb downward to 0, then dip and stay in the negatives. Anything else I can check to solve this problem?
