exhaust break-in?

I just got a custom cat-back installed with an xlerator muffler. It sounds ok, but rasps alot. is there such thing as a muffler break-in period? sounds stupid, but i think i remember reading this somewhere. Only way to get rid of rasp would prolly be a resonator right? i have headers/y, and now a catback, with stock cat.

Muffler break in? I've been through many man mufflers/exhausts/etc, never had a break in period. Aside from the distinctive smell it gives off when first driving it, nothing different in sound.

Some people claim that Flowmaster mufflers break in, but thats just people mistakeing break-in for rotting from the inside out.

Sorry, I'm a newb and don't have enough posts to start my own thread, so I thought i'd add a quick question...

Can a Megan racing catback for the 95-96 Maxima fit the 96 I-30 (Part #CBS-NM95)? I've been looking for answer for a couple of days, and all signs point to yes, but I need an definite answer from someone more knowledgable or experienced in this...

Thanks again!
