what does the EVAP Canister Purge Volume Control do?

im parting out my car since its been totalled and someone offered to buy this and that is when i realized ive never had this on my car. ive noticed the 2 empty bolt holes before but never knew what they were for. my aunt was the original owner so a mechanic must have taken it off when she had it and never replaced it.

so anyways i was just wondering what this did and if not having one affected anything major with the car?

LOL. that's funny I always had the CEL code for that and I never really fixed it. I have no clue what it does though.

You won't have it on a '95 Fed Spec, not sure about Cali. Mine and sho_off's 95's are the same, but a late 90's I30 I worked on had it.

'95s are weird about the emissions stuff, they have everything in a different location than later A32s (pretty much).

if you have the CEL for that alot of times ... in the back of the car on teh driver side. there is a little box connected to box are a valve and the plugs that go into it go bad due to time and road debris etc. check to see that the wire isnt broken etc.

its an electronic valve that controls the amount and flow of gasses stored in the charcoal canister to the intake. a 95 fed spec is mechanical like pre obd2 nissans. 95 cali and all 96-98's are electronic. 99's are setup a bit different; more like 5th gens.
